Family Day Celebrations

“Family isn’t always blood. It’s the people in our life who want us in theirs; the ones who accept us for who we are. The ones that would do anything to see us smile and who love us no matter what.” Salwan Public School, Gurugram celebrated its 25th Family Day. Students of Class XII D exhibited a series of events, as a part of special assembly, on the very ideal basis of family day. The gathering was delegated by the head girl of the school. The theme of the day was well espoused with an emphasis on ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’, which narrates the value of the world to be seen as one big family. The students expressed the message of celebrating each moment with our family through a mellifluous group song. Himanshi Sharma of Class XII recited a self-composed poem sharing the essence of all the school years that the students have spent in the school as a ‘family’ and suggested us to save these precious memories of the moments spent together. The school heads, teachers, admin and office staff as well as the student council blessed the students by forming a human chain around the students to ensure them a sense of relief and support. . All the students were further guided by Principal ma’am – Mrs. Rashmi Malik about the importance of family, stressing on the mutual respect that needs to exist in a happy family. The gathering brought an insight amongst all to realize that other things may change us, but we start and end with the family.
