Salwan Golf Cup 2023 – All India Schools Golf Championship

Salwan Education Trust established in 1941, is a name revered in the world of holistic education. As a part of the same, the Trust endeavors to provide young golfers a platform for nurturing their talent and generating a pool of talented golfers, right at the school level. With the same spirit, Salwan Public School Gurugram, under the aegis of Salwan Education Trust organised Sixth Annual All India Schools Golf Championship recognised by Indian Golf Union (IGU) and ranked by World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR) from 10th January to 13th January 2023 at ITC Classic Golf Resort and Country Club. It was one of the largest gathering of young golfers, approximately 100 children under the age of 18 (boys and girls) participated in the championship with much enthusiasm and excitement. The Tee Off ceremony was graced by the Lt Gen M K Mago, AVSM, YSM, SM(Bar), Mr Harmeet Kahlon, Arjuna Awardee, Golf Coach and International Golf Player, Asian Tour Winner, Brigadier Umesh Singh Bawa Vir Chakra, Kargil War and Principals, Directors. The Award ceremony of the tournament was honoured by the chief guest, Mr. AJAY BISARIA Former Indian Ambassador to Canada, Pakistan, Poland & Lithuania, Mr. Sarandeep Singh, Former Indian Cricketer and National Selector and Mr Rajat Sethi, General Manager, ITC Classic Golf Resort and Country Club, Manesar as the Guests of Honour. The winners of the different categories in the Championship were awarded with breathtaking trophies and certificates by the Chairman Emeritus Sh Shiv Dutt Salwan and Chairman SET Sh Sushil Dutt Salwan along with the guests. The Overall Winner (Girls) trophy was bagged by Anvvi Dahiya and overall Winner (Boys) trophy by Kartik Singh. The youngest player, six year old Dhriti was appreciated and specially awarded for her passion towards the game. The event was applauded by the players and spectators equally.
