An Interactive Session on ‘Compassionate and Secular Ethics: Educating Heart and Mind’ with His Holiness The 14th Dalai Lama
The air of gaiety and divinity engulfed the premises of Salwan Public School as we prepared to welcome the apostle of peace, the symbol of love, compassion and humanity- Nobel Peace Awardee, His Holiness The 14th Dalai Lama. The school was blessed to experience the divine presence of His Holiness who visited to address the students on ‘Compassionate and Secular Ethics: Educating Heart and Mind’.
Chairman Emeritus, Shri Shiv Dutt Salwan Ji and Chairman Trust, Shri Sushil Dutt Salwan Ji and other trustees were also present to adorn the glory of the moment. The school fraternity wholeheartedly welcomed the directors, principals, administrative officials, media and teachers and students of sister and all NCR schools to our premises.
Around 61 schools, more than 150 dignitaries, PTR members and 5000 students from SPS, Gurugram were in attendance to witness the programme and receive the blessings of His Holiness.
Chairman Trust, Shri Sushil Dutt Salwan Ji welcomed Dalai Lama Ji and proposed to open His Holiness Dalai Lama Centre of Spiritual Learning in all the schools under the umbrella of SET.
School Principal Ms Rashmi Malik elucidated the audience that some techniques of mental training, such as meditation and Super Brain Yoga are being religiously practiced by our students and His Holiness Dalai Lama Centre of Spiritual Learning will further pave a way towards integrating value system and spiritual upliftment of the students through research work.
His Holiness, in his address stressed upon cultivating warm-hearted feelings for others which can furnish us with mental ease. He bolstered the thought of equality, as to him we all are the same. Karuna and Ahimsa bring inner strength and peace of mind. He perceived that young people should focus on Ancient Indian Tradition and Culture as modern education system cannot render the much needed mental peace.
