Interactive Session with Shri Kamlesh D. Patel (Daaji)
Salwan Education Trust in collaboration with Heartfulness Education Trust conducted an Interactive Session, ‘To Lead the School Leaders Towards Living Heart Centered Life’. The aim of this session was to promote HEARTFULNESS (Pause, Reflect and Shine for Holistic Health and Happiness). The guest of honour, Padmabhushan Awardee Shri Kamlesh D. Patel, Spiritual Guru and Founder of the Heartfulness Education Trust, was welcomed by Mr. Himanshu Gupta, Director of Education. While addressing the audience, Mr.Himanshu Gupta (DOE) spoke about his own experiences and changes which he came across in his personal life after following the Heartfulness sessions on a regular basis. He explained how Heartfulness has been embraced in all Delhi Government schools and how this initiative has changed the lives of students by making them joyful, happy and the learners are mentally ready for the educational activities. Dr. Kamlesh D. Patel, well known by his alias Daaji, gave a brief introduction and discussed about The Institute’s Mission to offer all humanity a simple and effective set of practices for relaxation, meditation, regulating the mind, and building inner strength and attitudes to create a lasting sense of fulfilment and overall well-being. Daaji also discussed about mental, social emotional, spiritual and physical health. He quoted that “Heart is sheath of emotion and how much we are able to balance our emotions is essential for holistic health”. He talked about body, mind and mental processes like reflection and contemplation followed by session on guided meditation. Delhi Education Minister, Ms Atishi Marlena graced the program with her eminent presence to encourage Thoughtfulness. While addressing the gathering Madam emphasized that every school in Delhi should be a ‘Happy’ school. The curriculum followed should be such that the students are joyful and enjoy studying without any burden. Ma’am further shared her opinion about meditation and stated that the guided meditation by Daaji helps her to manage her day-to-day schedule smoothly. Madam concluded with a strong opinion that if the Principal of every school carries the practice of regular meditation, they can cascade it to the students through the teachers and would help in the development of a better society and eventually a mentally strong nation.
