Independence Day Celebrations

The Independence Day celebration at Salwan Public School, Gurugram, was a grand success, resonating with a deep sense of patriotism and pride in every participant. The event commenced with the unfurling of the national flag by the esteemed Principal, Ms. Rashmi Malik, followed by a spirited NCC march past. The tricolour, fluttering high in the sky, served as a constant reminder to all to respect the martyrdom of brave soldiers.

The program continued with a series of performances by students, which included patriotic songs, dances, and Nukkad Natak. These performances highlighted the rich cultural heritage of India and the unity in diversity that defines the nation. The enthusiasm and dedication displayed by the students were truly commendable, reflecting their deep respect for the country’s history and traditions. 

The Principal, Ms. Rashmi Malik, addressed the gathering with an inspiring speech, emphasizing the significance of Independence Day and the responsibilities that come with being citizens of a free nation. She highlighted the importance of instilling patriotism in the younger generation, motivating students to contribute positively to society while upholding the values of freedom and democracy. She also shared her vision of a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India), underscoring the crucial role of skill development in achieving this goal. Maám emphasized the connection between national development and the need to equip students with the practical skills necessary for becoming successful in the modern world. 

The celebration further included a vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of all those who contributed to making the event a success. The National Anthem was sung in unison, creating an emotionally charged atmosphere.

The Principal, Ms. Rashmi Malik,inaugurated the “Hunar Mela,” an exhibition celebrating the diverse talents of local artisans. The Mela featured stalls showcasing handmade crafts and artisanal creations, emphasizing the importance of preserving indigenous skills and fostering creativity. 

The Tiranga Yatra was also organised with a gathering of enthusiastic participants, including students, teachers, police officials and staff members of Salwan Public School, all united by a shared love for the nation. Led by Principal Ms. Rashmi Malik, the Yatra inspired a deep sense of pride and patriotism among the attendees. It was not only a celebration of the Indian national flag but also a meaningful engagement with the community, bringing together people from diverse backgrounds to honour the Tiranga.  

The event also included indigenous games, encouraging students to engage in traditional Indian sports such as chess, carrom (strike and pocket). To promote environmental conservation, saplings were distributed to all attendees, symbolizing a commitment to a greener future.
