Trade and Taste Show

“Thinking is the capital, Enterprise is the way, Hard work is the solution”
Our school had organised Trade and Taste Show by young entrepreneurs which aimed to ignite entrepreneurial spirit among students and to equip students with skills and knowledge about business. It aimed to provide a platform for students to develop innovative business ideas, understand the intricacies of running a business, and cultivate skills essential for success in the business world. Students were encouraged to apply theoretical knowledge to practical, real-world business scenarios, making the event a holistic learning experience.
The event was held in the E block foyer area, which was transformed into a vibrant marketplace for the day. It was inaugurated by Respected Principal ma’am, Vice Principal ma’am, and teachers, through a Ribbon-cutting and Lamp Lighting ceremony. Students from classes VI to XII had put up various stalls where they showcased and sold their self-made items which included both food and non-food items like rakhi, bracelet, keychains, bookmarks, paintings etc. Food items included soft drinks, sweet corns, cheese balls etc. Each stall was uniquely decorated, reflecting the creativity and effort of the students.
All the students actively participated in the stalls and gained an experience about setting up stalls and selling things. This helped them enhance their managerial skills, financial planning and marketing strategy. The primary aim of the Trade and Taste Show was not only to help students gain hands-on experience in business management but also to nurture critical thinking, financial acumen, marketing strategies, and leadership skills. Guided by teachers from the commerce department, students learned to pitch business ideas, develop business plans, and manage all aspects of running a business, from budgeting to profit generation. This practical experience was invaluable in enhancing their understanding of entrepreneurship and business operations.
The event also highlights the importance of social responsibility and welfare, as the profit generated by the students will be donated for community services by their consent which will contribute to local development and demonstrate positive impact of business on society.
In the weeks leading up to the event, students were guided through the entrepreneurial process by the teachers of the commerce department. Their mentorship, guidance, and support not only helped students develop entrepreneurial skills but also instilled a sense of confidence and responsibility. The teachers’ involvement ensured that the program was not just an event, but a meaningful learning experience that will have a lasting impact on the students’ personal and professional growth. The Trade and Taste Show was a resounding success. The students not only made significant sales but also gained invaluable experience in running a business. It also fostered a sense of responsibility as students had to manage their finances, ensuring they covered their costs and made a profit and also inculcated important life skills that will serve them well in their future endeavours. This also helped the students to instil a sense of responsibility towards the society and working for the social good.
Overall, the program highlighted the importance of practical learning in education, providing a holistic development experience for the students. It was, thus, an exciting, fun and memorable event.
