Earth Day is celebrated on April 22 every year to remind each of us that the Earth and its ecosystems provide us with life and sustenance. The purpose of the event is to show support for the environmental protection and give a voice to public consciousness about the state of our planet. The day provides an opportunity to raise public awareness around the world to the challenges regarding the well – being of the planet and all the life it supports.
To show gratitude to the Mother Earth and demonstrate support for environmental protection, students from classes 3- 5 also participated wholeheartedly in the activities planned for them. They made beautiful cut-outs of trees and wrote down their ideas expressing their wishes to save mother earth. A beautiful video recorded by our young Salwanians featuring different ideas to protect mother earth and show support for its protection was also streamed during the sessions.
